Jibboom Street
The Jibboom Street Power Station conceptual design envisions the revitalization of Sacramento's riverfront into a location where people of all ages can enjoy the wonderful river views and new amenities. The historic power station and the remnants of the historic water intake location will act as a living museum giving children, visitors, and both new and longtime residents lessons in Sacramento's past.
The historic power station along with an integrated civic amphitheater is positioned as the focal point of the development and acts as an anchor for additional development to north and south. As the anchor, the historic power station would be respectfully renovated into a lively dining and entertainment destination. Two restaurants and a music club would be incorporated into the original structure with an open air amphitheater nestled into the hillside off the southern edge of the historic building.
The development will also include a modern, sophisticated residential building with over 200 for-sale units located on the northern edge of the site. The residential development provides the presence and vitality that 500 residents, customers, and visitors bring to this location.
The additional visitors coming from 1,000 hotel rooms within walking distance of the site from overlapping markets, create a synergy through the common daily activities of residents and visitors woven together generate dynamic community.
Public access opportunities and amenities would be incorporated throughout the site connecting residential and commercial portions with the public park, plaza, terrace, bike trail and path features to ensure on going use and synergy. This synergy promises a customer foundation with integrated amenities desirable for any urban location.
